Cookie Policy

A precise account of cookies, local storage and similar technologies used on altivexapro.com — including what is not used.

Effective: 5 August 2026Last reviewed: 5 August 2026Current front-end: no HTTP cookies

Current status at a glance

Altivexa's front-end code does not set advertising, analytics, personalisation or social-media cookies. It uses one functional local-storage entry to remember that a visitor selected the 18+ confirmation. Local storage is not transmitted with every web request and is not used to identify the visitor.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

A cookie is a small text value that a website asks a browser to store. A browser normally sends matching cookies back to the website with later HTTP requests. Cookies can support essential functions, remember choices, measure traffic, personalise content or enable advertising, depending on their design.

Related technologies include local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, cache identifiers, pixels, software development kits and server-side identifiers. They operate differently, but privacy notices often describe them together because they can all remember or connect information about a device or visit.

2. Cookies compared with local storage

HTTP cookies can be session-based or persistent and are automatically attached to relevant web requests by the browser. Local storage is read and written by website JavaScript and generally remains on the device until it is cleared. It is not automatically sent with every request.

Altivexa currently uses local storage, not an HTTP cookie, for the age-confirmation preference. We include it in this Cookie Policy so the site's browser-side storage is described in one accessible place.

3. Current technology inventory

NameType and providerPurposeTypical durationData contained
altivexa_age_confirmedFirst-party local storage set by altivexapro.comRemember that the visitor selected “I am 18 or over”, preventing the notice from appearing on every page load.Persistent until the visitor clears site data, browser settings remove it, or the site changes the storage key.The text value true. No name, birth date, exact age, identifier or gambling data.

This table describes the website code as reviewed on the effective date. It does not include ordinary browser cache files, bookmarks, history entries or server security logs, which are not browser identifiers set by the page.

4. Why the age-confirmation value is used

Altivexa is an adult educational portal. Remembering the visitor's confirmation avoids repeatedly interrupting navigation with the same notice. The value is functional only: it is not proof of identity or legal age, does not authorise gambling, and is not used to profile interests or measure engagement.

Selection of the under-18 option redirects to the public-interest safety information on the Responsible Gambling page. That action does not create a separate profile or age record.

5. Technologies the current front-end does not use

At the date of this policy, the HTML, CSS and JavaScript delivered by Altivexa do not include:

  • advertising or retargeting cookies;
  • third-party behavioural analytics;
  • cross-site tracking pixels or fingerprinting scripts;
  • social-media widgets that automatically track page views;
  • affiliate tracking parameters or gambling-operator referral identifiers;
  • payment, deposit or account-authentication cookies;
  • A/B testing, heat-map, session-replay or keystroke-recording tools; or
  • location, camera, microphone or contact-list permissions.

Because no optional tracking technology is currently deployed by the front-end, the site does not display a marketing-cookie consent banner. The 18+ notice is an audience notice, not a request for consent to advertising.

6. Hosting, network and security infrastructure

A hosting company, content-delivery layer, firewall or server platform may process IP addresses and technical request information to transmit pages, balance traffic, detect attacks and troubleshoot errors. Depending on the final hosting configuration, infrastructure may also set a short-lived identifier that is strictly necessary for security or routing.

Such infrastructure behaviour is separate from the site's current front-end code and may change if the hosting configuration changes. If a persistent or non-essential cookie is introduced under our control, this inventory and any required choice mechanism will be updated before or when that technology is enabled.

Technical request and security logs are described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Consent, necessity and your choice

You choose whether to select the age-confirmation button. If local storage is available, the selection is remembered on the device. You may delete or block that value at any time through browser controls. The educational content does not require an advertising or analytics cookie.

Where a future technology requires consent under applicable law, it will not be activated for that visitor until the required choice has been provided. Refusing an optional technology will not be treated as consent. Any future consent interface should make withdrawal as accessible as acceptance.

8. How to inspect, block or delete site data

Browser menus change over time, but the general route is to open privacy or site settings, find stored data for altivexapro.com, and select clear, remove or block. Common approaches include:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings or Third-party cookies → View permissions and data stored across sites.
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data → See all site data and permissions.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.
  • Safari on macOS: Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Mobile browsers: open the browser's privacy settings or the operating system's app/site-data controls.

You may also use private-browsing mode, which generally removes local site data when the private session is closed, subject to the browser's design. Browser extensions and organisation-managed devices may apply additional rules.

9. What happens if storage is blocked or deleted?

The core articles, calculator, glossary and legal pages remain available. If the age-confirmation value cannot be stored or has been deleted, the 18+ notice may reappear on later page loads or visits. Blocking storage does not create a paid tier, prevent access to support information or reduce content quality.

10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) are browser signals expressing a privacy preference. Because the current site does not deploy behavioural advertising, sale/sharing pixels or cross-site analytics, there is no optional tracking behaviour for those signals to switch off in the front-end. We will review our response if those technologies or applicable requirements change.

11. External links and third-party websites

Altivexa links to New Zealand government and support services. A third party may use its own cookies after you follow a link. We do not set or read those cookies and cannot control them. Review the destination's privacy and cookie information before changing settings or providing information.

The presence of an external link does not mean that the external organisation receives Altivexa visitor records from us or that it endorses this website.

12. Policy updates and contact

We will update this page when storage names, purposes, providers or durations materially change. The effective and review dates at the top show the version currently published. A material optional-tracking change may also require an on-page notice or consent control.

Questions about browser storage or this inventory may be sent to privacy@altivexapro.com. Please include the browser, affected page and observed storage name where relevant.

This Cookie Policy should be read with the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
